I’m excited to share with you a little more about A Sanctified Art this morning. They have put together this incredible bundle of Creative Resources for Pentecost and it’s definitely worth checking out. Some of you have been asking if I was going to put out a coloring sheet for Pentecost, similar to the Alleluia Coloring Sheet we did for Easter. Unfortunately, because of the product launch that is happening now – we aren’t going to have anything for Pentecost – but I would highly encourage you to check out these resources and see if there is something that you might be interested in from A Sanctified Art. And now, a few words from the Founder and Creative Director of A Sanctified Art, Lisle Gwynn Garrity.
They were all amazed and perplexed, asking each other, “What does this mean?” (Acts 2:12)
The story of Pentecost is filled with amazement and mystery, unity and disarray, beauty and terror. Many of us in the Protestant church world celebrate the birthday of the church by draping red fabric across our chancels, reading the scripture text in multiple languages, or simply addressing the Holy Spirit more prominently in our worship prayers. Perhaps even more than other liturgical holidays, we crave visual, tangible, and creative ways to bring this story to life.
But if you’re a clergyperson or a busy church volunteer, you don’t necessarily have unlimited hours to dream up creative ideas for Pentecost. And even if you do, the logistics of pulling all of those projects together for one Sunday can be more than overwhelming.
A Sanctified Art emerged as a ministry to respond to the fear, overwhelm, and stifled imagination that have suffocated too many congregations and prevented them from embracing creativity in their sanctuaries and beyond. We are a team of artists and creatives in ministry collaborating to offer multimedia resources to help worshiping communities of all shapes and sizes get more creative.
We’ve created a bundle of digital resources that can easily be put to use in a church’s worship, youth, education, and fellowship ministries during the season of Pentecost. Based on the Revised Common Lectionary texts for Pentecost Sunday, the resources are designed to foster deeper connections to the scripture, to God, and to one another in community.

1. Banner Design Template w/ Creative Curriculum

2. Worship Meditation Film
Through the use of time lapse film editing, this video interweaves text, image, and sound to tell the story of Pentecost in a meditative, evocative way. You can watch a full preview of the film here.
3. Graphic Icon
Graphically-designed icon visually communicating the Spirit’s presence in the elements of wind, water, and fire, and flame.
4. Creative Written Liturgy
Beautifully-scripted words for an entire service. Some of the liturgy invites worshipers to pray through movement and action.
5. Meditative Mandala Coloring Page
Meditative mandala based on Acts 2:1-21. From the center outward, each layer of the mandala corresponds to aspects of the Pentecost story.
6. Bible Concept Map
Illustration of Acts 2:1-21 that visually maps out the major concepts and themes of the Pentecost story to help readers commit the scripture to memory. Watch the map come to life in this free preview.
7. Bulletin Cover Art
Pastel visual art highlighting the disorienting, yet unifying work of the Spirit through both wind and fire in Acts 2: 1-21. This is the final product of the art featured in the worship meditation film.
Our prayer is that these resources can be tools to help any worshiping community get creative in their specific context. We are not interested in merely creating products for consumption; we’re hoping to partner with others to discover new possibilities to connect and engage in our ever-changing Church. Join us in this work!
