Summer is right around the corner, which means it’s time to get ready for VBS! With all the checklists, volunteer recruitment, and random, last-minute details, we know preparing for VBS can be overwhelming. But don’t worry. We’re here to help! Whether you started planning months ago or just bought your curriculum last week, we hope these earth-friendly resources will help you be inspired, get organized, and embrace creativity during your VBS experience.
Be Inspired by these earth-friendly decorations!
Compassion Camp: What Every Living Thing Needs celebrates the Earth, so get creative with recycled materials! Make pennant banners out of cereal boxes, a tassel garland out of toilet paper tubes, or flower wreaths out of egg cartons. We have curated these ideas plus many more in our Compassion Camp: What Every Living Thing Needs Pinterest board. Find it here!
Get organized with these downloadable schedules!
Working out all the details for your schedule and when to rotate groups can be tricky. When should they have a snack? How long should they stay at each station? How long should transitions be? Have no fear, Illustrated Ministry is here! With three schedules to choose from, there is something for everyone. Download your copy here.
Embrace creativity with these reusable name tags!
If you want to stay with the recycled theme, consider using book pages from a thrifted book. Cut them into rectangles and write children’s names on them. Punch a hole and string them with a ribbon/twine. Printable name tags are also included in this download here. Print them and write in children’s names, or stay green by laminating them and reusing them each year!
Don’t forget to join our Compassion Camp Facebook Group It’s a great space to ask questions, share ideas, and find inspiration as you get ready for VBS. And if you are just now deciding what to do for your VBS, check out three great options here!
Happy planning!
